New video of Pandora assembled and in action
| Posted By:
Guyfawkes
@ 29 January 2009 - 11:24 AM |
MWeston has put together the first Pandora in its prototype (FDM) case to give a better idea of what it will look like. The video shows the Pandora booting up then running a test program which shows the touchscreen and keyboard being used. It then goes on to show some apps running including games, emulators and a TV show. I didn't have any sound on while watching the video so I am not sure if there is any explanation by MWeston during the video or not? Check out the video here.

Pandora FDM case video and a sneak peak of the photo realistic Pandora
| Posted By:
Guyfawkes
@ 28 January 2009 - 02:25 PM |
Two pieces of Pandora related news. The first is a video by MWeston showing the FDM case (prototype) of the Pandora. Inside the case is the screen, battery and controls. Although the unit is not actually functioning yet you can still get a very good idea of the size (its tiny) of the Pandora and what it will generally look like, check it out here. Which leads us very nicely onto the second news, Evil Dragon has been busy making some photo realistic renders of the Pandora. They are not quite ready yet but he has given us a sneak peak of a part of the Pandora, it looks ******* great! Check it out on his blog update here.

Pandora Blog update: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
| Posted By:
Guyfawkes
@ 06 November 2008 - 10:57 AM |
EvilDragon has posted a blog update with some pieces of information to keep everyone up to date. In summary it explains that due to the bank payment issues for the UK branch the Pandora will now have a total of 256MB memory (previously 128MB) and 512MB NAND. In the bad news it explains there may be delays due to the LCDs not being shipped to them in time. And the ugly news is no new videos as EvilDragon is currently waiting on a MK2 unit to do them.
You can read the update in full via the Pandora blog here.

ZodTTD ports MAME to Pandora in record time
| Posted By:
Guyfawkes
@ 19 October 2008 - 01:08 PM |
|
ZodTTD has posted on his blog that he has ported the Arcade emulator MAME (mame4all version) to the Pandora in just two hours. Here is a snippet of the news: In two hours of work, I had MAME ported over from Franxis' mame4all project on the GP2X handheld, over to Pandora. Full speed, full 44100Hz stereo sound, assembly cpu cores, no underclocking/tweaks needed for performance via MAME, and I used a battery-saving 500MHz CPU clockspeed. I could most certainly underclock the Pandora to save power with the majority of emulated games as well. You can read the full news as well as a video of Outrun running via ZodTTD's blog here.
