Hey New Guy,
I think you should put something together on screen sizing as well. It would be really great. For instance, SVCD, DVD, and VCD, what would be the best sizes to use for the zodiac? I ussually use 240x160 so the double affect does it, but since MMPlayer is getting better, I saw that you posted bigger sizes that can be used. I am looking for them now, but it would be cool if you did a more in depth faq for non beginners who want to know more of the ins and outs of adjusting the settings.

Newguy,
I just wanted to tell you, you really did a great job on this. I just tried it for the first time, and I like it better then MMPlayerJobmaker. I am one that likes to play around with a program, so this makes learning and playing around easier. And in the meantime, I could just encode and not worry about anything. Very sweet and props again. Now only if the program ran faster while cropping, I could get some sweet videos.

Good to know people are finding my guide useful
And now that MMPlayer is better, I found that I can play these cool files without encoding.
http://spotworks.com/big/bestof.mpg (high quality btw, 1855 kbps video with with 224 kbps audio, but low resolution)
There's also a whole page of them here
If you want to get this screensaver you can find it here, you'll need a DSL/Cable/other high-speed always on connection.

ok I must be doing something wrong, becasue whenever I try and open a video file in VirtualDub it gives me this error
I followed the instructions, installing the codecs you linked to. Has anyone else excperienced this problem?
Quote
VirtualDub error
Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'MP43'(Microsoft High Speed MPEG-4 V3)
VirtualDub requires a video for windows(VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by windows Media Player, are not suitable.
