I actually get a crash on my Zod when I launch it; it works fine on my T|T3.

My zod is a little flaky right now though, so could be just mine..

I just tested it with Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken, and Day of the Tentacle. It works great, even with the "Use larger stack" option on. Nice job, Chrilith!! B)

Testing the new version out on my Zod2 (w/ 128MB SD card), I'm using Sam & Max (Mac - Interactive) and Monkey Island 2 (Dos - Interactive) with partial luck. Good news is it works and displays. The bad news is even the new signed version won't display fullscreen on my handheld (even with fullscreen checked) and sound is absent.

The fullscreen issue is rather odd, IMO. I have the ScummVM menu in landscape view with the graffiti input fields hidden. When I launch a game in Scumm, it retains the bars on both sides of the screen as it did keeping the menu centered. Even in Wide 1.5x, they get in the way and the game is rendered under them. Very annoying.

For the sound, is it supported? If it is, it ain't working. :D

Have you explictly set MI2 to use built in midi for music and turned on sound and selected the Zodiac fullscreen and antialiasing features? This has to be done separately for every game you add.

I can confirm that MI1 and 2 work full screen with sound on the Zodiac.

I dug up Loom from the garage. I can't seem to get it to work full screen. I have it set on Buffered, Fullscreen, and keep aspect ratio. It DOES go full screen but only a piece of it is shown. Maybe I'm just using the wrong combination of settings but I've been through them all.

Aric, what settings did you use for MI?

Props to the developers, bringing my favorites back to life on my Zodiac. Makes my travels on long plane rides enjoyable.

Just downloaded the new signed version. Here follows initial impressions ;)

First of all, huge thanks to Chrilith for keeping his project alive. It's no secret that I bought the Zodiac (almost) solely for being able to play the classic Lucasarts adventures on the go. With this new version, it is finally truly possible! So Chrilith, congrats on a job well done and allowing me to relive my happy days of yore :D
A few remarks....

- Speed is excellent (ARM optimized YAY!), no slowdown at all even with sound on

- Fullscreen mode (wide 1.5x) is finally possible for non-devs! Genious! It was pretty hard on the eyes in previous versions with the gamescreen locked to 320x320. And of course, no slowdown at all with fullscreen

- The in-game menu screen (when hitting the function button) is garbled though, all the text just shows up as square blocks

- Lastly, a feature request: all the classic Scumm games had the possibility to skip dialogue lines with the period button (instead of waiting for the game to do it). I would love to see on the Palm version also. I know that you can just speed up the text, but I'd rather be able to read at my own leasure and the go forward when I'm done.

All in all, a great great app that I cannot recommend enough! This running as great as it does on the Zodiac, together with the LJZ emulator, should be enough to warrant a buy (and the support) of a Zodiac in my opinion.

Regards

Hey all,

Well, I broke out the old hard drive and jacked it in to grab the Sam n Max install.
It runs. But jeesh it crawls. The graphics are so slow. I tried ARM optimization, I tried no sound. I tried all the switches. I cannot get it to run very sell. The intro video is like... "Friends.." Wait 2-4 seconds while his mouth makes the words "Friends".

Can you get anything from me to help you?

Regards,
Doug

There is some slowdown in samnmax, but its nowhere near as bad for me as it is for you. Audio does skip some, but it's not too painful. Audio and lipsync is out of phase by about 1 second or so.

Keep in mind, some games work better than others. Indy, and Monkey 1 and 2 work GREAT. DOTT works well, but there is still some audio skipping (but it's better than samnmax).

The in-game menu works fine for me.

I believe the yellow action button does this for some (not all) of the games. I could be wrong though.

The HOME button skips cut scenes in most games.

Does the sound/voices still sound poor in Maniac Masion 2?
