Good job getting a lotta help all in one spot! Should this get pinned? Hopefully whoever keeps telling people to do a "real hard reset" will read the guide... :D

Hmm, thanks for the guide New Guy, but I have one thing to dispute with it. To get video going to have to:

1) Decrypt the DVD
2) Get the video from the DVD, Virtual Dub doesn't do this AFAIK
3) Go through the steps that New Guy posted above.

:/ That is what makes video really unattractive to me. I don't feel like doing all that stuff as it takes bloody hours.

New guy... awesome. Good idea, and great contribution. Hopefully this should assist once the Z becomes retail, and everyone comes here to ask the "what is a reset" type questions.

What do you think is the better choice: cutting a hole in the back of my Brando/GlobalSource case so I can access the reset button with my stylus, or downloading the Crash application?

Just kidding. :D But I think you should add that there's a freeware app that may help people when the Zodiac has a fatal error...

We need a HDD that is like the ones in the bigger iPods, like the 50 gig one, they aren't as much as the 4 gig microdrive, and it's still small enough to clip to the back.

50 gigs = lots of mewvies.

Palm already has it bult-in to reset the system after a crash. I haven't timed it but I think it's about 30 seconds, so that software probably just changes a value somewhere to make Palm reset after a few seconds instead.

And yes a hard drive would rock. I would be fine with 4 gigs though, a 50 gig would probably take more battery power and be much larger.

I found a site with different codecs and for different file types here. I think it might have been posted already, but not in this thread.

Edit: Just as a warning to people reading through the posts, don't install any "codec packs" such as the one mentioned above. On the other hand you may wish to install ffdshow.

id just remove that "Good Zodiac backgrounds", as they get into personal choices, and it would make the list much bigger

pretty good idea though, pin it! =`]
