Details and link of new LJP release here.

*** PLEASE READ THE POST ABOVE AT YOYO'S FORUMS *** It talks about *** IMPORTANT *** stuff you should know before asking/complaining about this release. One guy reported bad experience with the Zodiac. Not sure how it will work for you guys though... Anyway, have fun :)

I am really interested to hear how it is working on the Zodiac. Not sure I am going to try it yet tho. I have RC2 all set and running great on my Z2 at the moment. Unless there is a major change (like TG16 emulation) included, I may just hold off on this one for now.

EDIT: Hmm, maybe I will try this...from the readme:

[ZODIAC] Added: 4:3 screen mode

Sounds to me that this will create a better (more accurate) aspect ratio for most games. Pretty cool. I'll test it after work tomorrow.

Thanks Tinnus! So far SNES, GB and NES are working great, but Genesis resets my Zodiac in ASM mode (C works, but is slow).

Running this with my zod 1, I originally had the same fatal error 10 problems as mentioned on Yoyo's boards...

I'm not sure how, but I fixed them and RC3 is running beautiful now. It seems to be much faster than even RC2 (could have been due to me switching to the FAT32 driver recently, though), and I was having kooky NES crashes on loading a save state in RC2 that are gone now....

Anyway, my fatal error 10's happened to go away when I went into the rom paths and changed all of the rom paths to the original ljp directories.....The error 10's suddenly vanished when I typed the paths in exactly, with the correct capital letters and everything........ Somebody else try this, to see if that's really what causes the fatal error 10's....see the tg16 path within RC3 for reference as to what capitals are needed.

There were some blocks within the paths that I got rid of too....looked like a ☼ ..... anyway, I edited all the paths...

BTW, I used the binaries file and installed it manually.....rather than using the installer file....if that happens to make a difference.

Doubt that's the whole story, but I got rid of the fatal error 10's, at least...

RC 2 works solid as a rock in my Zod2.

RC 3. I tried it. Donīt work well on my Zod. The "full screen mode" in the launcher, desapear wen you touch anything. And 70% of the times, i donīt know why the LJP canīt find the roms in my SD card (1st slot) were the LJP RC 2 find them without problems.

I prefer LJP RC 2. So i "downgrade" after some hours of playing with RC 3.

In other hand Tinnus, the RC 2 is really, really great on the Zod. Never a reset, very strange a fatal alert, all games at fullspeed or near using auto skip., and i love the "zodiac smoothing". :)

it doesn't find your roms because rc3 adds the ability to define the roms location....but it doesn't look in the old default spot to begin with....i.e. you have to tell it to look there before it will find your rom...

I still prefer LJZ, LJP never seemed to be stable, hopefully LJR will fix that ;)

To be exact, it does look in the default paths if you don't tell it to. The problem seem to be you people not deleting the ljp.ini file in the LJP/ dir... I should have told you that though, hehe.

ALWAYS delete the ljp.ini file before installing a different version, especially this one that deals with new settings :)

Those who had problems with fatal 10/roms not showing/weird paths showing up please try deleting the PRC, the INI and installing the PRC again (the ZEMs and roms can be kept).

I swear that I had deleted that INI file.....oh well, it's not like I can go back and check now...

I was the guy with the "bad experience", Tinnus told about.
But I found the solution:

there was an old ljp.ini on the Internal card. After I deleted this one - it worked :)

Thanks Tinnus! Keep up the great work!

Yup. I have had to delete that old INI file in the past to get the program to see my rom directories. This should be added to the readme if it isn't already...can't recall.

Yep, same here. I replaced it with the genesis zem file from RC2 and now it works fine. Something is wrong with the zem file included in RC3.

All in all, great release! I did not encounter a single crash in over an hour of playing (aside from the newer genesis zem module of course) and the emulator as a whole seems somewhat faster. I am loving the stability tho. Easily the best version yet. SNES at FS 2 runs better than the SNES emulator on the PSP at this point (at least on my end). Good show! Can't wait to see the final!

BTW: The SMS emulation is fantastic. Really compatible, really smooth, and sounds great!

You should really re-visit LJP. I personally thought LJZ was VERY unstable, as I would suffer a crash just about any time I switched systems and played a couple of games. LJP RC2 was what I thought to be extremely stable as it only crashed on me sometimes once per one hour session. Now, I can't seem to get RC3 to crash at all, which is an excellent thing. I really messed around with it for over an hour, switching systems and games...adjusting settings and then adjusting again. No crashes at all.

Yes, I did change something I can't remember in the ASM core code because for some weird reson it wasn't compiling. I *thought* it would work but didn't test it :P

I'll base the LJR Genesis module off the code from RC2.

Or you could use the updated asm core I got working... :P
